Mary Elaine Elia Obituary

Mary Elaine Elia (nee: Anderson), 78, of Manahawkin passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Southern Ocean Medical Center. She was born in Bayonne to the late Mary (nee: Gallagher) and Anthony Anderson and was a resident for most of her life before relocating to Manahawkin ten years ago.

She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Jersey City State College and was a learning consultant with the Jersey City Board of Education.

She was a member of the Manahawkin Elks Club.                                                                                                                

Mary Elaine loved nothing more than having a full dining room table of friends and family, especially her Gallagher cousins.

She loved socializing with her friends at Bingo and Bunco where she was the life of the party and, her cheesecake was out of this world.

She was predeceased by beloved husband Frank. She is survived by her loving children, Lisa, Michael, and his wife Noel, Augie, and his partner, Michele and Marc, and his wife, Amy; and her cherished grandchildren, Sarah, Danielle, Shannon, Madelyn and Sydney. She was also predeceased by her brother Anthony Anderson.

The funeral will be conducted by the Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Monday , December 6, 2021 with a funeral Mass  being held at the parish of Blessed Miriam Teresa at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church at 10:00 a.m. Private Cremation will follow at Rosehill Crematory, Linden, NJ. Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to  6:00 p.m. at  the funeral home.
