Calais – Amanda Nicole Flynn, 35, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 surrounded by family at Calais Community Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Amanda was born in Machias on February 13, 1986, daughter of Randy Bowen and Barbara (Flynn) Rice. Amanda graduated from Calais High School, Class of 2005. While raising her children she earned her CNA. Amanda moved to Lubec and worked for many years at the nursing home in Lubec until moving to Jacksonville, FL where she continued her CNA career. She eventually moved back home to Lubec and Calais and worked at Walmart and Alpha One. In 2018, at the age of 32, Amanda was diagnosed with cancer. Her greatest accomplishment in life were her four children, Jordan, Ashaliegh, Alexis and Jace. Amanda was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Burton Flynn; and paternal grandparents William and Jackie Bowen. Surviving are her four children who she loved dearly, Jordan, Ashaliegh, Alexis and Jace; her companion Kenneth Sulkowski of Calais; mother Barbara Rice and husband Johnny of Calais; father Randy Bowen and wife Kelli of Calais; grandmother, Florence Lank of Lubec; three sisters, Tiffany Bowen of Pembroke, Shayna Bowen and companion Eli Wilson of Whiting, and Jessica Moores and husband Andrew of Calais; three brothers, Randy Bowen and wife Deanna of Calais, Steven Bowen of Calais, and Philip Brown of Calais; nieces and nephews, Rudy, Trae-Shawn, Keyara, Hartlyn, Octavia, Khia, Thea, Shaylee, Nevaeh, Andi-Jo, Lili-Ana, Kirby and Lincoln; many aunts and uncles; numerous friends; and two special friends, Daisy Lewey and Crystal Oldson. In keeping with Amanda’s wishes, there will be no services at this time. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
