Laurel R. Derleth Obituary

Laurel R. Derleth Webster: Called home to the Lord on November 27, 2021. She is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Robert J. Derleth, and 5 siblings. Laurel is survived by her children, Marcia (Lowell) Schweder, Steven R. (Deb) Derleth, Laurie (John) LaFave; eight grandchildren, Kristen Thompson (Bryce), Erika (Darrin) Dunlea, Marisa (Matthew) Corey, Christian Derleth, Ryan Derleth, Aaron J. (Heather) Brockler, Robert C. Brockler, Lauren (Giuseppe) Paciullo; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, her dear friend Judy Forjone, and other beloved friends. Laurel was a devout Catholic, a member of the Catholic Daughters Society, and instilled her faith in her own daughters. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a volunteer at the Elk's Club in Wolcott, NY. She was an avid reader and traveler, enjoyed sewing and knitting, was a card shark and Scrabble Queen. She loved living in East Bay (near Sodus) on the water, and then at the twilight of her life, at Baywinde, which were some of the best years of her life. A very special thank you to the Shepherd Home for their exceptional and compassionate care. Laurel died as she lived, with faith, family, grace, and dignity. Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shepherd Home, 1959 Five Mile Line Road, Penfield, NY 14526.
