Johnston, Sr., and Carol Ann Schneider Johnston of Phoenix, AZ.
Bob served as a PFC in the US Army at Fort Knox, KY as an Armor Crewman and Tanker Driver from 1986 to 1988. He was proud of his service and was a true patriot.
Bob found the love of his life when he met his soulmate, Brenda. They were married on April 1, 2013 but were together for over 20 amazing years.
He had many jobs over the years, but he found his dream job later in life when he became an OTR truck driver. He traveled to all the lower 48 states, taking his wife along for the adventure. He also enjoyed their many rides on his many motorcycles whenever there was a sunny day. His spare time was spent working on the cars and motorcycles with his sons, spending time with his family and spoiling his grandbabies. He was a family man through and through. His kids will cherish the memories of learning to drive while helping him deliver papers on his paper route, his great cooking (especially his chicken and dumplings) and gathering at the house every time he came home from his OTR travels for a steak dinner and a drink of whatever he brought home from the Full Throttle Saloon when he drove through Sturgis, SD.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Jeremy Finn and niece Julie Weaver.
In addition to his wife and mother, Bob is survived by 4 brothers, James Johnston, William (Bernice Ann) Johnston, Randall Phipps-Johnston, and Richard Marshall; 3 sisters, Tammy Johnston, Kimberly Bahtti and Lorraine (Jacob) Lopez; 4 sons, Andrew Johnston, Michael Johnston, Michael (Lexi) Kay and Dylan (Kristen) Kay; 3 daughters, Andrea (Teresa) Johnston, Amber (Blas) Valenzuela and Krista (Matthew) Moore; 6 grandchildren, Peyton, Lillien, Jaxon, Raiden Robert (named after his grandpa), Shelby, and Blas Jr., and 2 on the way, Logan and Jeremy; 2 nieces, Makayla and Maleia; 4 nephews, Christopher, Travis, Jeremiah and Isaac; many aunts, uncles and cousins, and the countless "bonus" kids that have come through our house over the years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department on Wednesday December 8, 2021 from 5pm to 7pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.mckinneyfuneral.com

Bob was my best friend from grade school. We spent a lot of time together we we both weren't working. We went on a lot of rides together on our motorcycles. I did name my son after Bob. A true friend will be missed deeply. Bob was like my brother.
