Lorraine Alborn, 91 passed away November 29, 2021 at her home in Anchorage. Lorraine was born August 1, 1930 in Peoria, Illinois. She graduated from East Peoria Community High School. In 1952, Lorraine married Melvin Alborn, the couple were married for 62 years until his death in 2015. Moving to Anchorage in 1952, Lorraine raised five children and assisted her husband with his trucking business (Alborn Trucking) with dispatch and bookkeeping. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Lorraine enjoyed reading, gardening, baking cookies for grandchildren, watching wildlife and spending time at the Kenai lakehome. Her family wrote: “Lorraine will be remembered for her pride in home and family, putting a high value on education for her children and grandchildren, her tireless work ethic and fierce independence. Her generous gifts to family and friends of homemade cookies and jam were greatly appreciated." Lorraine is survived by children, Julie Terdan, MN, David Alborn, MO, Lisa Sutherlin, OR, and Lori Brown, MO; grandchildren, Adam Alborn, AK, Tara Solem, MN, Brianna Cook, AK, Alan Alborn, UT, Megan Ritter, ND, Kristin Thompson, DE, Louie Terdan, WA, Lauren Nevin, WA, David Alborn, AK, Richard Alborn, PA, Nina Ford, OR, Matthew Brown, CA, Noah Brown, CA and Aubree Alborn, MO; 40 great grandchildren; one brother, Gary Lugeanbeal, MS; and many nieces and nephews from around the country. She is preceded in death by her spouse, Melvin; son, Gerald Alborn; grandson, Eric Brown; parents, Edward and Julia Lugeanbeal; and brother, Richard Lugeanbeal.
