Daniel P. "Dog" Didiuk

Daniel P. "Dog" Didiuk, age 70, of Peoria passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Unity Point Methodist.   Born July 8, 1951 in Peoria to John and Anna (Nahatch) Didiuk, he married Joedy D. O’Keefe on June 8, 1980 in Las Vegas, NV.  She survives.    Also surviving are two children; Carrie (Chad Erdmann) Mercer and Daniel Didiuk, four grandchildren; Taylor Mercer, Haley Didiuk, Kingsley Didiuk, Daniel “Bam” Didiuk and one great-granddaughter Kambreigh Whitby.  Also surviving are two sisters; Linda (Billy) Cunningham & Norma Hammond, two brothers; John Didiuk & James (Katie) Didiuk and several nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Nina Cooper.     Danny proudly served in the US Army and was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.  Danny was a hard working and loving man who was always there to help family and friends in any way.  He was a loyal employee to Keystone Steel & Wire Co., retiring in 2015 after 44 years of service. Danny loved sports and fishing but his greatest love was for his family!  Words can’t express the unconditional love he had for his children and grandchildren.  Danny’s deep devotion and selflessness to them was shown throughout his life with his love and support.  From cheering them on in the stands at their sporting events, their personal Uber and Door Dasher to providing encouragement and compassion to lift them up in times of need. These virtues he lived by, will be truly missed but the memories he gave them will last forever.       A Memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with a one hour prior visitation.  Fr. Jeremy Freehill will officiate.  Burial of Ashes will follow services at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Peoria.   Memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.   Friends and family may sign the online guestbook by logging onto www.wrightandsalmon.com .
