Billy Joe Kennedy, 83, born July 24, 1938 passed away peacefully at his home on November 30, 2021 with his son and Hospice Nurse Heather by his side, holding his hands. This is when the true glory of the Lord Jesus Christ was revealed to him.

Billy graduated in the class of 1956 Soddy Daisy High School and at the age of 82 could tell you every one of his classmates by memory. If you did not believe such a memory, he would go through them again backwards from Z to A.
He was married to the love of his life, Charlene (Watts) Kennedy on December 23, 1960 and then served in the U.S. Army from 1961- 1963 at the Panama Canal zone.
He retired from TVA after more than 30 years as a pipefitter from Local #43 and then in Fire Operation at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant.
Billy was a two time past master at Soddy Lodge #418 and became a 50 year member this year. He was active in the lodge until just before death.
He was of the Pentecostal Faith and regularly attended East Daisy Church of God.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Eva Mae (Walker) Kennedy; loving wife of 51 years, Charlene (Watts) Kennedy; brother, Johnny Lester Kennedy; and sisters, Mona June Leffew and Linda Sue Cameron.

He is survived by his son, Marty LaDon Kennedy; sister, Wanda (Albert) Wilkey; brother, Melvin Kennedy; several nieces, nephews and a great grandson, Coy Allen Hackney, all of Soddy Daisy.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Soddy Daisy Food Bank at
PO Box 1468 Soddy Daisy, TN 37384.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop Jackie Penney and Rev. Bruce Kennedy presiding.
Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors and masonic services.
