<p>Leland Gene Waugh age 81 of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at his home.</p> <p><strong>Visitation for family and friends will be 4:00 p.m. &ndash; 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Behner Funeral Home.</strong></p> <p><strong>Private inurnment will be held at a later date in Fell Cemetery.</strong></p> <p><strong>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Libertyville Community Center and mailed to Barry Waugh, 1102 Kodi Circle, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.&nbsp; &nbsp;</strong></p> <p>Leland was born at home near Fairfield on April 21, 1940, to Gayle and Pearl (Coffin) Waugh.&nbsp; He was the first-born of twelve children. Leland was twice married and divorced.&nbsp; In his first marriage, Leland married to Phyllis Osing, they had 3 children.&nbsp; In his second marriage to Bettye Coffin, he was a step-father to her 2 children.</p> <p>Leland graduated from Selma High School in the Class of 1957.&nbsp; He lived his entire life in the Libertyville and Fairfield area.&nbsp; He worked at the Fairfield Dairy then American Chain &amp; Cable while also farming.&nbsp; He then was self-employed as a truck driver.&nbsp; He also drove a truck for some local companies including the Libertyville Co-op and Nelson and Company.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;Leland was a member of the VFW, Eagles and Walton Club.&nbsp; In his earlier years, he enjoyed watching World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and was involved in harness racing where he went to multiple state and county fairs.&nbsp; He also bowled on the Tuesday Late League at Flamingo Lanes.&nbsp; In later years, Investigation Discovery (ID) TV was his favorite channel.&nbsp; Leland was a people person and made a habit of collecting many friends.&nbsp;</p> <p>Leland will be missed by his children, Lisa Hulscher of Van Meter, IA, Gayle (Tad) Larson of Council Grove, KS and Barry (Kara) Waugh of Fairfield; 2 step-children, Miles Sheldon (Leslie) Coffin, Julie Coffin (James) Smith, 11 grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Grant, Claire and Joseph Hulscher, Ty and Cheynne Larson and Kerrick Waugh, Joey and Jason Coffin, Gavin, Gillian and Grace Smith; siblings, Jim Waugh and Bill (Connie) Waugh both of Libertyville, Donald (Janice) Waugh of Midland, MI, Janet Meek of Birmingham, Linda Keeley of Fairfield, Kenny (Elaine) Waugh of Lexington, NC, Bob (Diane) Waugh and Ruth (Larry) Martin both of Libertyville and Darrell (Jane) Waugh of Hedrick; sister-in-law, Mary Waugh of Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Gayle and Pearl; granddaughter, Shelby Larson; and grandson, Gene Hulscher; two brothers, Roger and Dennis Waugh; sister-in-law, Marie Waugh; and two brothers-in-law, Van Meek and Tom Keeley.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
