Nancy S. Hurley

Nancy S. (Sullivan) Hurley, 78, passed away suddenly, Friday November 26, 2021. She was the wife of the late John R. Hurley. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Mary (Keebler) Sullivan. Mrs. Hurley was a teacher for 28 years at Burrillville Elementary School before retiring in 1990. She then worked at Johnson & Wales College as part of a Doctoral Program until 1996 and was then Town Administrator for the Town of North Providence for 5 years. She lived in Glocester for 50 years before recently moving to Greenville. She was a member of the Glocester School Committee and served as Chairman for 10 years. She was a former member of the Foster-Glocester Regional School Committee and a member of the National Education Association. She is survived by her brother David Sullivan of North Providence and her sister Jean Bruch of Newtown Square, PA. Her funeral will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 at 10am from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Home, 643 Putnam Pike, Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Philip Church, Greenville. Burial will be in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Vincent dePaul Food Pantry, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI 02828 will be appreciated.
