Gillian Patricia Rodrigues Springhill, Florida Obituary

Gillian Patricia Rodrigues

Gillian Patricia Rodrigues, born on May 6, 1958 in Georgetown Guyana, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 26 2021. She was the second child of Leila (Rodrigues) Henry and Sigismund Augustus Martindale. She emigrated to the United States in 1979. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems from Fordham University in 1988 and worked in information technology for over 20 years. She was a devout catholic and a voracious reader with an insatiable thirst for knowledge. She enjoyed anything intellectually engaging and had a love for music. She dreamt of being a writer and was working to launch a freelance career. She will be fondly remembered for her funny personality and faces, especially by her grandchildren. Gillian is survived by her daughters, Daniela Field and Deidre (Field) Keller; her granddaughters Danisha and Kiarra; her grandsons, MJ, Damon, Orion and Eon; her great-granddaughter, Naomi; her mother, Leila; her siblings, Sandra and Sean; her nieces, Davana, Dascia and Dannia; and her nephew David. A funeral mass will be held at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Spring Hill, FL followed by a memorial at Pinecrest Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, we would welcome donations to People Helping People in Hernando County, Inc. in Spring Hill, FL (https://phphernando.org/). Lord, make me an instrument of Thy Peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness light. Where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master; grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned. And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep I am a thousand winds that blow I am the diamond glints on snow I am the sunlight on ripened grain I am the gentle autumn rain When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush of quite birds in circled flight I am the soft stars that shine at night Do not stand at my grave and cry I am not there, I did not die - Mary Elizabeth Frye
