Gilbert—the vivacious, fun loving zesty life of James L. Kempson III, has reached it’s final destination. Jamey’s spirit for trying anything whether it be cuisine, investments, or travel, was always an adventure.

His life was full of world travels and fun times grilling, skiing, and boating with family and friends at Lake Murray, Edisto Beach, and Maggie Valley. His pride for America, support of Clemson Athletics, Star Trek, and passion for classic cars and trucks has been instilled in his son Jay. His enthusiasm for life gave him the gift of many decades of friendships he considered family as well as his colleagues from the job he truly loved at SC State Aeronautics.

His greatest loves were his son Jay, his granddaughter Scarlett and wife of 37 years, Gloria. Family was his life. Live long and prosper.

Celebration of life will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, December 4, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Lexington, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 213 St. John’s Church  Rd., Lexington, SC 29072. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel is assisting the family.
