Millie Standfield Ruckins

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Millie Stanfield Ruckins on November 26, 2021, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all whose lives she touched. Millie was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on June 28, 1943 to the late James Stanfield and Millie Washington Stanfield. She was educated in Rapides Parish at Peabody High School. Millie was a lifelong member of First Union Historical Baptist Church. She was a valued member of the community and actively involved in the Alexandria Social Club, Eastern Star, Elk and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8852. Millie loved visiting with friends and family, hosting holiday celebrations, and cooking with love. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Stanfield and Millie Washington Stanfield, four sisters: Juliette Stanfield, Annie Bell Williams, Delores Costella Perry and Bertha Stanfield Nimmer; and six brothers: James, Titus, Ed Jessie, Charles, Roy, and Franklin Stanfield. Millie was the beloved mother to daughter, Rochelle Lee and son, Maclonza "Michael" Lee. Her brother Orange “Grady” Stanfield, and sister, Gloria Brown, were blessed with her presence. Her grandchildren: Shedreicia Renee Price, Gregory Lee Price, Gina Maria McDermott, Ladira Chanol Green, Asya Michelle Lee, and Henry R. Emanuel III will miss her dearly. Millie’s Godchildren: Daryl Frank, Samantha Frank, Kidada Perry Davis, Joseph Skillen, and Neil Albert Hawkins treasure the time spent with her. Especially close to Millie’s heart, Drucilla Denise Nimmer-Emanuel, her very special niece will forever appreciate the love she received. Millie will be cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, great and great great grandchildren, and other extended relatives who will hold her memory in their hearts forever.
