Earl R. Turner Obituary

Earl R. Turner, 86, of Seminole Road, Forest Hill went home to be with his Savior Monday, November 29, 2021.

     Born December 7, 1934 in Summers County he was a son of the late Joe and Norene Saunders Turner.

     Earl was a 1952 Forest Hill High School Graduate and had worked in the automobile business for twenty years.  He then retired in 1996 as President from the National Bank of Summers in Hinton after twenty- five years of service and pursued his lifelong farming aspirations fulltime. Earl was a faithful member of the Roles Chapel Baptist Church where he also served as a deacon.

     Earl was preceded in death by his son, William “Billy” Turner and an infant son; one sister, Linda Turner Coleman and two infant sisters; one brother, Robert Joe Turner.

     Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 65 years Dorothy “Jane” Walthall Turner; one brother, Sam Turner and wife Remona; daughter-in-law, Linda Grimmett Turner; brother-in-law, Andrew Coleman; nieces and nephews, Stephen Turner and wife Bobbi, Jeff Coleman, Brian Coleman and wife Heather, Bobby and Joey Turner, Darlene Tuite and husband Bob, Christie Teague and husband Todd, Susan Rutherford and husband Roy; numerous great nieces and nephews; and his special constant companion “Buster”.

     Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Friday, December 3, 2021 at the Roles Chapel Baptist Church at Forest Hill with Pastor Ronnie Cobb officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Roles Chapel Baptist Church from 10:00 A.M. until time of services Friday at the church.  Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Turner, Roy Rutherford, Jeff and Brian Coleman, Jacob Teague, and Joey Turner. In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to the Roles Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund: Box 5184 Seminole Road Forest Hill, WV  24935 or the Hinton Area Foundation William E. “Billy” Turner Memorial Fund: P.O. Box 217 Hinton, WV  25951.
