Marco Culotta

<p>Marco Cosimo Culotta, age 88, passed away suddenly Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Slidell Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He is predeceased by his parents, Angelina and Cosimo Culotta, his brother, Leonard Culotta, his dear wife of 45 years Rose Mary Culotta, and his subsequent loving life partner of 17 years, Freda O. Green. He is survived by his many nieces, grand-nieces and great-grand-nieces; his nephews, grand-nephews and great-grand-nephews, who all loved him dearly, and a myriad of wonderful friends. He worked in the engineering and shipbuilding industry for many years and retired from Avondale Shipyards after 25 years. He is a lifelong resident of New Orleans, River Ridge, and finally Slidell, where he cherished his life on the water. He was a devout Catholic and active parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Slidell. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the International Order of Alhambra, and Manresa Annual Retreats. He served in the 122nd Air National Guard and was a Korean War Veteran. He reveled for many years in the Knights of Babylon and Freret, along with other New Orleans Carnival organizations. He loved to laugh, party, dance, travel, and practice his &ldquo;favorite sport&rdquo; of fine dining. He loved music, especially Italian Opera, and played several different wind instruments throughout most of his life.<br /> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Marco will be sadly missed by his many relatives, friends and acquaintances, who pray for his eternal rest with all the angels and saints and his beloved Lord and Savior.<br /> &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Visitation will be held with Very Rev. W.C. Paysse, V. F., Pastor, Our Lady Lourdes Church, 400 Westchester Place, Slidell, Louisiana, 70458 at 11:30 am; Burial at Garden of Memories, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marco&rsquo;s memory to the office of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 3924 Berkley Street, Slidell, Louisiana 70458.</p>
