Thomas Henry Lucas Jr. was born on November 12, 1937 in Fredericksburg, VA, the only child
of the late Thomas Henry Lucas Sr. and Jeannette Anderson Lucas. He was affectionately
known as “Tommy” or “Luke” to his family and friends. Tommy departed this earthly life on
November 26, 2021.
Tommy grew up between Mineral, VA and Fredericksburg, VA. He spent a lot of time with his
grandmother and eventually moved to Washington, D.C. with her.
He was employed at several dry-cleaning companies before retiring from Bergmann Laundry.
When boredom hit, Tommy returned to the workforce at Colonial Parking. Tommy loved the
Washington Redskins, listening to music on YouTube, and automobiles, especially Mercurys,
Fords, and his F150 truck. He and his grandson Malik, who he affectionally called “Buddy”
would spend time together going to the barbershop, eating, and sharing wisdom with one another.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Rosa Lucas, two stepsons, Mark of Temple
Hills, MD and Kelvin of Rancho Cucamonga, California, three grandsons- Adrian (Tina),
Armond, and Malik, one granddaughter Mercedes, three great-grandsons, Adrian Jr., Carlo and
Zane, a dedicated cousin William (Tony) Anderson and a host of family and friends.
