Funeral services for Doris “Omie” McGraw will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, December 3, 2021, in The Chapel of Hixson Brothers Alexandria with Reverend Rich Snow and Reverend Charles Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville. Visitation will be observed at the funeral home on Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and resume on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Pallbearers honored to serve are Tanner McGraw, Alan Rothermel, Ryan Ledet, Justin Smith, Clint Nunnally, Noel Rusk, A.J. Rothermel, Scott Rothermel, Blake Window and Brodie LaFleur. Honorary pallbearers are Hayden Ledet, Cohen Ledet, Branch Smith, Hayes McGraw, Al Taylor and Dr. Wilton Guillory. Doris “Omie” McGraw, 99, of Pineville, died peacefully at home on Monday, November 29, 2021. Omie married the love of her life, Byron “Opie” McGraw. Omie and Opie started their travels in 1960 with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. They lived in Canada and several cities in Germany. Omie’s passion for travel took them to numerous European countries, Canada and multiple U. S. cities. She was a member of First Christian Church of Pineville and a Charter member of the Central Louisiana Orchid Society, where she won numerous awards for outstanding service and artistic displays. Omie was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 62 years, Byron “Opie” McGraw; parents, H.P. “Pete” Mayeaux Sr. and Marion Estelle Petty Mayeaux; brother, Sonny Mayeaux and sister, Betty Latimer. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, David McGraw and wife, Joy; daughter, Melanie McGraw Nunnally and husband, David; grandchildren, Ashley Rothermel (Alan), Amy Window, Emily LaFleur (Brodie), Tanner McGraw, Alison Ledet (Ryan), Avery Smith (Justin), Elicia Tracy, Mary Hawthorne, Clint Nunnally and Meghan Baber (Mike); 12 great grandchildren; her caretakers whom she thought of as family, Elizabeth LaCour, Michelle Gaa and Kristi Coston and a host of other family members and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amian Angels, Stat Home Health and Passages Hospice for their compassionate care. The family has designated St. Jude Children Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Memphis, TN, 38101, for memorial contributions.
