Hazel Louise Kemp Jenkins Hazel Louise Kemp Jenkins 88, of Gambrills passed away Monday, November 29, 2021 with her son and granddaughter by her side. Born August 5, 1933 in Hiwassee, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Luther Kemp and Mae Collins Kemp Turman. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Jenkins Jr, her son Dean Jenkins, her sister Shirley Lawson, and her brothers Barney and Louis Kemp. She is survived by her son Earl Jenkins III, granddaughter Rebecca Jenkins, great granddaughter Jodee, sister Wilma Dalton, brother Richard (Joyce) Kemp, sister-in-law June Moore. Several nieces and nephews. Hazel was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Crofton. She was very active in her community as a member of the Four Seasons Women's Club, the Millersville 55+ Club and the Gambrills Athletic Club. She retired from AT&T after 36 years as a telephone operator. She loved to travel and to try new restaurants. You could often find her in a kitchen preparing foods for family, church or various community functions. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday December 9, 2021 at Hardesty Funeral Home, Gambrills MD. Interment will follow at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent the the First Baptist Church of Crofton.
