Obituary

Faith Elaine Henderson Mosley, age 65, of Norman, passed away suddenly on Thanksgiving night, November 25, 2021.  Born November 2, 1956, in Hamtramck, Michigan, she lived in Detroit, Michigan, until moving to Norman, Oklahoma, in 1967, with her parents, her six siblings and her maternal grandmother, Ora Beard.

Faith attended University High School, graduated from Norman High School in 1974, and attended The University of Oklahoma where she studied Liberal Studies.  Faith spent many years as a U.S. Transportation Security Administration security trainer, a position she took after 9/11; and a job she considered the most meaningful and interesting work of her varied career.

Faith was married once to Manuel Ledrew Mosley.  The two divorced in 1989, but she considered him the “love of her life”.  They had one son together, Sterlin Ledrew Mosley.  She was very close to her son, and the two would talk at least two to three times a day until her death.

Later in life, Faith developed a love for cats, much to her own surprise, and nurtured her precious kitty “MyLady” until he passed of renal failure.  She wasted little time adopting her next kitty, Milo, who was with her until the end of her life.

Faith was a gentle, sensitive, and loving soul of whom many people turned to for comfort or a respite during difficult times.  She was empathetic, creative, smart, and had a great sense of humor.  Faith had many interests including drawing, cooking, and reading.  She loved beautiful jewelry, makeup, and acquiring fun gadgets and most of all her family.  Faith was a radiant soul and will be missed by all those whose lives she touched with her healing spirit.

She is survived by her only son, Sterlin Ledrew Mosley; parents, George and Barbara Henderson; sisters, Lee Ann Harris, Joy Baldwin, Dawn Johnson and her husband Stephen; nieces, Kimberly Henderson Clift and Taylor Johnson; and nephews, Alexander Zabel, Jordan Johnson, Isaiah Clift, Louis ‘Riky’ Arboisiere and Cy Harris.  Faith was preceded in death by siblings, George Henderson Jr., Michele Henderson and Lisa Henderson.
