RENEA JAMES Gonzales, Texas Obituary

RENEA JAMES

Renea Evette James was born in Gonzales, Texas to Herman and Mary Hunt on November 26, 1963. Renea James, the youngest of five siblings, lived most of her life in Gonzales. There she received her early education and went on to attend Gonzales High School.

Sister Renea James grew up and was baptized at Union Lea Baptist Church and was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Later in her adult life, she relocated to San Antonio, Texas for a better life. She visited and was a major supporter of Divine Restoration Apostolic Ministries in Gonzales, TX, under the leadership of Pastor Rodney and Prophetess Kimberly Miller (her daughter and son-in-law’s ministry).

Renea James, affectionately called “Nae”, was a hard worker and people person at heart. She worked for many years in the housekeeping profession at BlackGold Inn in Yoakum, TX; as a CNA at Cartwheel Nursing Home in Gonzales, TX; and as a Food Service Worker for Gonzales ISD. She loved to give back and served the community countlessly through homeless outreach.

“Nae” took care of the grand babies, as well as everyone else. She loved family gatherings, going out to eat, shopping on ‘everyone else’s dime’, fried chicken and BBQ.

She is preceded in death by both her parents, Herman and Mary Hunt; two brothers, Herman Ray Hunt and Gregory Hunt; one sister, Dorothy Ford; two nephews, Lamond Houston and Adam Hodges.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband of 24 years, L.M. Dilworth of San Antonio Texas; three sons, Adrian James, Sr. (Sasha) of Yoakum Texas, Tommy Hastings, Jr. (India) of Cuero, and Ayden Hunt of Gonzales, Texas; three step-sons, Danny Dilworth (Queeny) of Amarillo TX, Benny Dilworth (Bridgette) of Rosenberg Texas, and Kenny Dilworth (Destiny) of Amarillo TX; three daughters, Crystal Dilworth (Adrain) of Gonzales TX, Kimberly Miller (Rodney) of Gonzales TX, Lanae Dilworth (Rick) of San Antonio, TX; one step-daughter, Sharonda Dilworth (Rodrick) of Humble, TX; one sister, Betty Cray of Houston, TX; special friends, Latasha and Reesie; 28 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
