Ronald Howard Dean passed away suddenly on Friday, November 26, 2021 at his residence in Harleysville, PA. He was 75. Ronald received his Bachelor’s Degree from West Chester University and then went on the earn his PhD from Delaware Law School. He was a retired police officer of Whitpain Township, where he worked for almost 15 years. He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church in Hatfield, PA and also a member of the FOP Lodge 014. Ronald was passionate about his children, grandchildren, and dog, Lancy. He loved all animals and taking care of strays. He was truly a bright, cheerful person who loved joking and connecting with others. Born in Philadelphia, PA on August 28, 1946, he was a son of the late Howard H. Dean, Sr. and the late Doris D. (Maffei) Dean-Bird. Surviving is his loving family including two sons, Adam Dean (Janet) and Eric R. Dean (Stephanie Teufel); his daughter, Sarah E. Dean; 7 grandchildren: Amanda Joy, Alexander, Andrew, Annalise, Jordan, Adalyn and Kennedy; brother, Howard H. Dean, Jr. (Kathy); four sisters: Doreen Crabtree, Dolores Curry (Gerald), Donna Dennis (Bud) and Danielle Parkinson (Tom); brother-in-law, Jim Adams; ex-wife Kathleen Dean, who he remained close friends with; as well as many other loving family members. Ronald is preceded in death by his first wife, Joy (Johnson) Dean; son, Anthony Joseph Dean; sisters, Debbie Adams and Denise Bruce; and his stepmother, Betty Dean. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing at St. Maria Goretti Church, 1601 Derstine Rd, Hatfield, PA 19440 on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 9:30 to 10:15 am; with his Funeral Mass starting at 10:30 am. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, E. Norriton, PA.
