Lawrence Lawson

Lawrence Dale Lawson, 74-year-old Big Cabin resident, passed away late Sunday, November 28, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 11, 1947, in Vinita, to Orley Freeman Lawson and Isabel (Marshall) Lawson. Lawrence was a 1965, graduate of Vinita High School. He married the love of his life Rhonda Dee (Arnold) Lawson, on May 30, 1974. Lawrence worked at Northeast Rural Electric Company for 38 years, working as a lineman, retiring in 2008. Lawrence used to run a few cattle, and really loved horses and going to horse pulls. In his younger years he enjoyed prairie chicken and deer hunting, along with predator hunting. He was known for his ability to sharpen a knife razor sharp. He will be missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orley and Isabel Lawson. The family includes his wife Rhonda of the home, children, Randy Lawson and wife Tammy of Adair, Lori Griswold and husband Joseph of Miami, Matt Lawson of Catoosa, a brother Larry Lawson of Big Cabin, grandchildren, Cheyenne Flickinger and husband Chad, Chase, Kellee, Alayna and Landon Lawson and Rhett Griswold, great-grandchildren, Tyson, and Kara Flickinger. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel in Vinita. The graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Big Cabin Cemetery, Big Cabin, Oklahoma, Pastor Skip McClain will officiate.
