James P. "Jim" Demkowski

James P. “Jim” Demkowski, 53, of Homer, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Ascension Borgess. He was born on September 7, 1968, in Monroe, MI to James P. and Barbara J. (Nyitray) Demkowski Sr. Jim married Tonja (Bowerman) on September 22, 1990, and she survives. Jim graduated from Litchfield High School, Class of 1986. He was employed at the Walmart Distribution Center in Coldwater for 25 years as a manager of the service department. Jim grew up on the family farm until he was 21. He took pride in the projects that were completed on the farm, such as, installing pivots, building barns and removing fence rows. There wasn’t anything that he couldn’t fix. He enjoyed feeding people, he was known for his smoked brisket. Jim also enjoyed going to the rodeo, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Tonja, Jim is survived by his parents; one daughter, Heather Demkowski of Homer; one son, Dustin Demkowski of Homer; one sister, Julie Wilson of Hillsdale; one brother, Chuck Demkowski of Bedford, IN; nephew, Nathan; niece, Andie and special friend, Keith Wireman. Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents; father-in-law, Ed Bowerman and special friend, Stephen Groshko. A celebration of life for James P. “Jim” Demkowski will be held in the spring of 2022. Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Litchfield.
