Freeman W. Boggess

Freeman W. Boggess, 98, of Ripley passed away Sunday, November 28,2021 at Mountain View Care Center in Ripley. He was born March 27, 1923 in Given, WV a son of the late Addie and Lessie Koontz Boggess. Freeman was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and a World War II veteran. He enjoyed hunting, farming and traveling to new destinations to see new things. He was a member of the American Legion and the Independent Order of Oddfellows. Most of all Freeman loved all his family. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Olson (John); brother Windell Boggess and sisters Ida Mae Moore and Mary Kellar. In addition to his parents, Freeman was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Boggess brothers Laco, Willard, Arnold, Hillard, John and Elbin Boggess. He was also preceded in death by longtime companion, Deloris Kelly. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, December 2nd at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Independent Order of Odd Fellows service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow in the Emma Chapel Cemetery in Liberty.
