Larry Joe Sanders

Larry Joe Sanders, 80, of Paint Lick died Monday, November 29, 2021 at Baptist Health Richmond. He was a Phelps, KY native (Pike County) born December 22, 1940, son of the late Harold and Alice Compton Sanders, former owner/operator of Sign Source sign company, partner in Superior Carpet Cleaning and attended Calvary Baptist Church. Larry had been a resident of the Berea area for over 30 years moving here from West Virginia. In his spare time Larry enjoyed motorcycles and being a handyman helping anyone who needed a helping hand completing a project. He was well known as a workaholic with some type of job in progress all the time. Survivors include his loving wife Doris Whittemore Sanders; daughter Katherine Sanders; brothers Ray Sanders, Bob Sanders, Monk Sanders; grandson Myloe (Courtney) Sanders whom he raised as a son; granddaughter Kolina Sanders; great grandchildren Noah, Camden, Myles, Isabelle; step-sons Brandon (Teresa) Gay, Travis (Jamye Denson) Gay; step-grandchildren Brodie, Logan, Sofi, Taylor; and his faithful companion, his dog Annabelle; as well as numerous relatives, friends, church family and business associates. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Keith Sanders; and sister Ruby Compton. In accordance with Larry’s wishes, he was cremated and a Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Reppert Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Miller officiating. Acceptance of Friends 12:00 Noon until service time. Private burial of his cremains will take place at a later date.
