Alejandro "Hondo" Valdez

Alejandro Toltec Valdez was born on July 8, 1980 in Oakland, CA to his loving parents, Daniel and Elizabeth (Chavez) Valdez.  "Hondo" was the fifth and the youngest son out of a total of six children.

"Hondo" was a bit of a rebel growing up, but he had a great love for people who gravitated to him because of his 'larger than life' personality.  He was a hard working man and worked as an Insulator and member of the Heat& Frost Insulators Union Local #16 in Benicia, CA for more than 13 years.  He always kept busy, and in his leisure time was an active member of the CLIQUE MC,and Rodeo Baseball Association coaching the Pinto-Renegades, as well as playing in men's softball leagues in both Berkeley and Martinez.  He also enjoyed fishing, jogging, bicycling and riding his motorcycle.

In addition to his affiliations and interests, he loved spending time with his family and friends.  While an imposing figure in stature and unfiltered personality, he was also a man well known for helping and providing support to families and friends in need.  He took pride in his culinary skills and mastery of his mother's signature dishes.  He could deep fry a turkey like no one else!  "Hondo" loved manning the grill for his family which he did on most Sundays.

A beloved husband, father, son, brother and uncle "Hondo" departed this world suddenly on November 23, 2021.

He is survived by his wife , Amy Jean Valdez; his four children; Moses, Mercedes, Micaela and Julian Valdez; his step-children; Alexiss, Paul, Michael and Colton; his parents; Elizabeth and Daniel Valdez; his siblings; Danielle, Sonja, Richard, Deanna and Melina Valdez; aunts and uncles as well as a host of nieces and nephews. His legacy lives on in his family and friends.

Flowers are appreciated, but those that would like to contribute to the Valdez Children’s Education Fund may do so; details to follow in the near future.
