<p>Kelly Glen Byrne, Jr.</p> <p>28 June 1981 - 25 November 2021</p> <p>Kelly Glen Byrne Jr., 40, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 25, 2021, Thanksgiving Day at 9:57 a.m. at Mercy Hospital, Aurora, IL with his wife, Jennifer by his side.</p> <p>Kelly was born and raised in San Bernardino, CA but often traveled to Houston, TX as a teenager where his father lived. Kelly was an Army Veteran enlisting in 2001 and was sent to Fort Sill, OK as a Fire Direction Specialist. In March 2003 he deployed to Iraq with the first troops sent as support to Operation Iraqi Freedom. He served for 12 years before leaving the service as a recruiter in Milwaukee, WI.&nbsp; On October 31st, 2002 he married Jennifer A. Byrne and they had a beautiful daughter, Livia, whom he adored. After the Army he trained at UTI in Lisle, IL as a diesel mechanic. Kelly was extremely personable and had many friends from his childhood and the Army scattered across the US. He taught himself how to play the guitar and liked to play it when he was stationed far from home or while hanging out with friends. He often had long talks into the night with his much loved baby sister Summer Harris. Kelly also enjoyed playing video games, watching hockey, and playing flag football with his Army buddies. He loved his dog, Maggie and could be found cuddled up with her on the couch watching movies after work.</p> <p>Kelly is survived by his wife Jennifer (Sherman), his beloved daughter Livia, his foster mother, Paula (Johnson) Harris, siblings Brandi Kincaid, Ryan (Ryanne) Byrne, and Summer Harris, nieces and nephews Jordan Cruz, Ledger and Paisley Byrne, Kaylee Gibson and Travis Lee, his father Kelly (Cindy) Byrne, Sr., his brother Franklin, and niece, Luna, his mother-in-law Janet Sherman, brothers-in-law Adam and Eric, and sister-in-law Amanda, niece Millicent and great niece Aleithea Sherman and his sweet beagle Maggie May.</p> <p>He is preceded in death by his father-in-law Gary Sherman and step-father Skip Davis.</p> <p>His parents will also have a Celebration of Life in California and Alaska.</p> <p>His Army battle buddy, Jason Keomany, set up a Memorial GoFundMe to help defer some of the funeral costs. https://gofund.me/012f99ae</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
