Johnnie Dale Knight, age 65, of Breaux Bridge, LA passed away on Sunday November 28, 2021, in Kiln, MS.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Knight; his brother, Jody Knight; and a granddaughter, Mila Moore.

 

Left to cherish Johnnie’s memory are his companion of 20 years, Sharon Moore; his mother, Lois Knight; his children: Melissa McHale (Martin), Eric Knight (Brandi), Steven Knight (Nicole), and Dillon Moore; a sister, Lois Ray LaFontaine (Ronnie); his grandchildren: Lily and Patrick McHale, Blaine and Jaxson Knight, Jayla Wilson (Hunter), Claudia Ferguson, Ashlynn Davis, Chloe Knight, Madelynn Knight; a great-grandchild: Linden Wilson; the mother of his children, Linda Kivlan, and numerous beloved extended family members.

 

A native of South Mississippi, Johnnie lived in Breaux Bridge, LA for the last 20 years.  He was a graduate of Saint Stanislaus College in Bay St. Louis and Pearl River Community College. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved being on the water or in the woods, hunting, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed music and dancing and delighted in spending time with his grandchildren. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

 

The family offers sincere appreciation to Dr. Pamela Tuli of The Medical Oncology Group, as well as Notre Dame Hospice of Mississippi, and all who provided their loving care of Johnnie in these last five months.

 

In remembrance of Johnnie's life, the family recommends that charitable donations be made to the Coastal Conservation Association in lieu of flowers.

 

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 9:30 am - 11 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dedeaux.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in the church.  Interment will be in Alphonse Malley Memorial Cemetery.
