Glenn Thomas Hepp, 79, of Erie PA, passed away on November 27, 2021, at Ball Pavilion in Brevillier Village, Erie PA. He was known as “Tom” to friends and family from his hometown of Tiffin, Ohio, and “Glenn” to friends and coworkers in Erie. He was born in Tiffin on October 22, 1942 to the late Alora M. (Bruner) and Richard F. Hepp and graduated from Columbian High School on June 2, 1960. After a freshman year of college at Bowling Green, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy. During his two four-year tours he served on submarines, including the first operational commissioned nuclear submarine, the USS Nautilus, as a Petty 0fficer Third Class, Electrician. After his service, in the summer of 1969, Glenn “Tom” went to Erie PA to begin employment at the Hammermill Paper Company, purchasing a home in Harborcreek PA. Glenn retired from International Paper Company (formerly Hammermill) in 2007 after 39 years as an Electrical and Instrument Foreman. To better enjoy retirement and the outdoor activities he loved, he and his wife Nina moved to Paris TN. Those activities include riding motorcycles, fixing cars, and house construction. Always a sportsman, he loved hunting and fishing, especially with his children and grandsons. He had a lifelong hobby of taxidermy, which he started when he was 12 yrs old and shared his taxidermy talents with many friends and family. He was a Past Grand Master and an active member of the North East Lodge #399 F&AM, North East PA. Yet mostly he will be remembered as dedicated husband and family man. Glenn is survived by his wife of 31 yrs., Nina (DiPlacido) Hepp; children, Barbara Hepp and partner Susan Everett of Freedom PA, Steven Hepp and wife Hillary of Erie PA, and Doug Hepp and fiancée Cari Hawkins of Big Rock TN; brother Richard Hepp and wife Joanne of Avon Lake OH; sister Alora (Hepp) Daniels and fiancé Tony Wilson of Parma Hts., OH; grandchildren: Jared Hepp of Ripley NY, Zachary Hepp of Erie PA, Paige Hepp of Erie PA, and Dakota Hepp of Big Rock TN and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by one daughter, Rene’ A. Hepp; his first wife of 26 yrs., Dolores A. (Tong) Hepp; brother George “Fred” Hepp; sister Barbara Ann Hepp; maternal grandparents Nina and Wilbur “Bill” Brewer, and paternal grandparents. Family and friends are warmly invited to call at the Dusckas –Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 5151 Buffalo Rd. (at Hannon Rd. in Harborcreek Twp.), on Wednesday, Dec. 1st from 4 to 8 p.m. Further viewing will be held at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home, 135 N. Washington St. in Tiffin, OH, on Friday, Dec. 3rd with a funeral service to be conducted there on Saturday, Dec. 4th. Following the service, Glenn will be laid to rest at Mexico Cemetery in Tiffin, with full military honors.
