Marjorie Lou Morris Obituary

Marjorie Lou (Grass) Morris passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2021. She was born October 1, 1933 in Boulder, Colorado, where she grew up surrounded by her large and loving Italian American family. WIth her husband Herbert Morris she had five children and enjoyed dancing to big band music at Elitch Gardens. She worked for many years at Colacci's Restaurant in Louisville, CO. She later went to work for the UMC Department of Student Services Dining at the University of Colorado, Boulder where she was beloved by staff and faculty, and enjoyed seeing her grandkids come through her line. She retired in 1996. She was famous for her pies, and was an incredible cook, seamstress and knitter. She loved books, talking about current events, and most of all her family and friends. She is survived by her sister Deborah Grass, her children Donna D'Orio, Linda Morris, Sandra Detar (Mark Banaszak), James Morris, and Keith Morris (Jen Lashua); her grandchildren Amy Taylor (Scott Buchholz), Ryan Taylor (Kacey Taylor) Kevin Morris, Greg Detar (Ashley Detar), Elizabeth Detar, Aliyah Morris, Tenzen Morris, Sitara Morris, Bella Morris, Jason Cayce, and Shayla Goodwin; and her great grandchildren Jules Morris, Nora Taylor, Owen Taylor, and Max Detar. She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond Grass and Lucille Grass, grandson Joseph Neal, and sister Linda (Grass) Channel. Talking Books made a big difference in Margie's later life.
