<p>Doris Alene Hatley Huneycutt, 92, of Locust, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Forrest Oaks Healthcare Center in Albemarle.<br /> <br /> Doris was born October 5, 1929 in North Carolina to the late John Freelan Hatley and the late Lula Artelia Crayton Hatley. <br /> She was also preceded in death by husband, James Junior Huneycutt, son, Roger James Huneycutt, and seven brothers.</p> <p>The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Friday, December 3, 2021 at Mission Baptist Church in Locust. The funeral service will follow on Friday at 2:00 pm at Mission Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Jeremy Hyde. Burial will immediately follow at the Mission Baptist Church Cemetery at 12444 Mission Church Road, Locust.</p> <p>Survivors include daughter, Nadine (Mike) Moyle of Mount Pleasant, NC, granddaughter, Delores Pritchard, great-granddaughter, Payton Pritchard, and many nieces and nephews.</p> <p>Doris enjoyed spending time traveling with her husband and liked going out to eat. Her loved ones called her the "card lady" because she was always sending cards for any occasion. Doris' home was surrounded by a cow pasture and she loved keeping an eye on her nephew's cows.
