Myrtle Louise Sawyer

Waynesville, Myrtle Louise Medford Sawyer, age 93, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021.

A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Sadie Medford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Sawyer, who died in 1979; her daughter, Jackie; son, Bobby Joe; three sisters; and five brothers. Myrtle was a hard worker and enjoyed various jobs. She had a knack for gardening and held a special love for her dahlias. Myrtle above all loved her family.

Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Kathy Davis (Gene); sons, Billy Sawyer (Stephanie), Michael Sawyer (Toni), and Shane Trull (Wendy); sister, Ruth Davis; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, six step-grandchildren, and 10 step great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, in the Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes of Waynesville with Reverend Gary Putnam and Reverend Rusty Rector officiating. Burial will follow at Buchanan Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.  Serving as pallbearers will be Brock Glavich, Shane Trull, Tray Sawyer, Tanner Sawyer, John Hughes and Dillion Davis.
