Karen Jean Brown

KAREN JEAN BROWN, age 69 years of Osseo, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021, at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital in Coldwater. She was born on October 26, 1952, in Hudson, the daughter of Estel E. and Donna J. (Casteel) Taylor. Karen graduated from Hudson High School in 1970. She married Robert W. Brown, Jr. on October 30, 1970 in Hudson. He preceded her in death on May 27, 2015. Karen enjoyed cooking, doing crafts, especially for Christmas, spending time with her grandsons and being known as “Grandma” to all their friends. She worked at Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility for over 35 years, retiring in 2015 as the Supervisor of Restorative Nursing Program. Karen is survived by three children, Kelly Lewis, Shawn Brown and Lacie Brown, five grandsons, Kyle (McKenzi) Brown, Ian Brown, Eli Brown, Lane Lewis and Samuel Brown all of Osseo, three brothers, Gary (Ginny) Taylor, of Colorado, Allen Taylor and Dale (Linda) Taylor, and sister-in-law, Barbara Handyside all of Osseo and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Funeral Services for Karen will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 3, 2021 at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson with Dr. Samuel E. Wickard officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Jefferson Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family.
