Diane Vickers Comfort, 60, a respected and well-known educator, died Friday, November 26, 2021. A resident of St. Francisville, LA, she was known as kind and caring, creative and fun. Most of all, she demonstrated her love of children, people, music, and especially God throughout her life.

Diane was born in Mt. Pleasant, TX, and graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1986, majoring in education. Her teaching career focused on early childhood education, both in Texas and for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. Diane served for several years on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Education Association. She retired with over 25 years of experience and stayed in touch with many of her students and parents over the years.

Diane valued her many friends and colleagues as an active member of Tri Sigma sorority; P.E.O. International; and the Lee High Ladies, a group of friends from elementary/high school. She also met regularly with the Spanish Club, teachers who met to eat Spanish food, and her Pokeno Club.

God was the main focus of Diane’s life. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in St. Francisville. She enjoyed singing in the choir and especially working with Dominican Mission Team.

Diane is survived by her husband, Steven H. Comfort; her parents, Jonny H. Vickers and Lou Ann Vickers; identical twin sister Deborah Vickers LaBauve; sister Judy Vickers Hughes; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of St. Francisville on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm and then on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 10:00 am until funeral services at 12:00 Noon. Rev. Joel Williams will conduct the service. Burial will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 12:00 Noon.
