Joseph L. Landa, Jr.

Joseph L. Landa, Jr., 61, beloved husband of Maria F. Landa, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021 in Bridgeport, CT surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. Born in Meriden on January 19, 1960, son of the late Joseph L. Landa, Sr. and Carol Schipke Landa, Joe grew up in Meriden and resided most of his life there, before moving to Bridgeport. He attended St. Mary School, H.C. Wilcox Technical School and graduated from Central Connecticut State University. Joe was a typesetter in the printing industry and worked for Aetna, Sir Speedy Print Shop in Meriden and Lebon Press in Hartford during his career. Joe was an avid sports fan, passionately cheering for his beloved Boston teams; the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and the New England Patriots, in addition to the UConn Men’s basketball and football teams. He assisted with coaching South Meriden Little League when his nephews played and loved to golf. Joe was an eagle scout and loved spending his spare time with his family. Besides his loving wife Maria, he is survived by his brother and two sisters, Chris (Claudia) Landa, Carrie (Tom) Morache and Nancy Landa. He especially loved his nephews, Stanley and Joe, his niece, Katie and his great nephew, Theo Carle. He also leaves behind his stepson Miquelon Folco, step-grandson Mike Folco and good friend Marli Smith. His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 3rd from 9 to 11 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main Street, Meriden, CT 06450. His funeral service will commence at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Masks will be required. The burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.
