Esther L. Janik

ESTHER L. JANIK, age 80 years of Hudson, formerly of Clayton, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Provincial House in Adrian. She was born on August 18, 1941, in Hudson, the daughter of Sidney M. and Leona B. (Mills) Marshall. She married Frank A. Janik on October 24, 1958, in Hillsdale and he preceded her in death on February 18, 2010. Esther loved crocheting, cooking and spending time with her granddaughters. She retired from Homer Donaldson after several years. Esther is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Steve) Kerr of Hudson, three granddaughters, Brandi (Calvin) Clark of Hudson, Stephanie (Bret) Robinson of Manitou Beach and Jessica (Shane Seitz) Kerr of Morenci, seven great-grandchildren, Alexander, Tyler, Emersen, Andrew, Xavier, Levi and Carter, special young man, DJ Gerken of Morenci, one sister, Vera Rauth of Alabama, sisters-in-law, Linda Bachelder of Manitou Beach and Judy Marshall of Kansas and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, Sidney, Sewell and George Marshall, one sister, Sandy Tice and brother-in-law Tom (Maureen) Janik. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1-3 P.M. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson. Burial of her ashes will follow at North Dover Cemetery in Clayton. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Lenawee.
