Jack Lee Coffin Obituary

Jack Lee Coffin, age 89, of Logansport, passed away Saturday Nov. 27, 2021 in the Waters of Lebanon.

Born July 21, 1932, in Terre Haute, IN to the late Robert and Eleanor (Richardson) Coffin. On March 25, 1951, in Terre Haute, IN he married Norma J. Moore who preceded in death on January 7, 2020.

Jack retired from Exide Battery Corp. in 1990 after 30 years of service. He had also worked ten years on the Pennsylvania Railroad and was a former delivery driver for Warner’s Greenhouse.

Jack attended Faith Community Fellowship Church. He was a past Exalted Ruler of Elk’s Lodge #66, past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler of North Central District of Indiana, former Ritual Judge, Secretary and Treasurer of Elk’s Lodge #66

Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Lynn Roller, Logansport; Patricia Ann Johnson, Logansport; three sons, John Richard (Sue) Coffin, Logansport; David Alan (Melissa) Coffin, Portage, MI; Todd Lee (Rhonda) Coffin, Valparaiso; brother, Kenneth (Kathryn) Coffin, Terre Haute; sister, Dorothy Cox, Sunbury, OH; seven grandchildren, Melissa Sturdivant, Kristina Stetz, Katherine (Garrett) Phillipy, Kevin (Carmen) Coffin, Brittany Coffin, Emily Coffin and David (Mianda) Johnson; seven great grandchildren, Brianna (Tyler) LaOrange, Savannah Sturdivant, Allison Stetz, Morgan Stetz, Lauren Stetz, Blaze Coffin, David Johnson and Zane Johnson; two great great grandchildren, Nova LaOrange and Mason Lopez.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two son-in-laws, Mike Roller and Ed Johnson.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday December 4, 2021 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Montgomery officiating.

 A visitation will be held from 11:00 am until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Prior to services the Cass County Honor Guard will provide full military rites.

A private interment will take place at Ever-Rest Memorial Park cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ed Johnson Law Enforcement Scholarship Fund C/O Cass County Community Foundation.
