Funeral services celebrating the life of Robert A. “Bubba” “Rooster” Owens, Jr., 61, of Downsville, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Downsville, LA with Rev. Ricky Nolan and Rev. Zale Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Mr. Owens was born on August 5, 1960 in Waco, TX and passed away on November 27, 2021 in Ruston, LA. He worked for Howard Allen Logging and loved being in the outdoors hunting and fishing. He especially loved fox hunting and listening to his dogs running. Rooster is preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bud” Owens; sister, Lisa Owens Judkins; and father and mother-in-law, Quitman and Nell Lewis. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Carolyn Owens; mother, Chole Owens; brother, Shelton Owens and wife, Rhonda; sister, Tammy Owens; brother-in-law, Jimmy Lewis; step-son, Allen Powell; his best friend that was like a son, Casey Williams and wife, Krystal; and his beloved dogs, Chole and Holly. Pallbearers will be Casey Williams, Hayden Williams, Clint Littleton, Stacy Foot, Lee Hicks, Johnny Guice, and Randy Antley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gore Antley, Chase Bell and Bobby Duty. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Youth Building Fund.
