Tommye Ann Blakley Fox

Tommye Ann Blakley Fox, 85, passed away peacefully at AuthoraCare in Burlington, NC on November 27, 2021. Tommye was born on December 15, 1935, to Dallas and Lemay Blakley in Winston-Salem. She graduated from Old Town School in 1954 and married Edward Shore Fox in November of the same year. They raised three sons. She worked several places, including RJR Tobacco and Foods, but her favorite job was as a kindergarten teacher. Tommye was a devoted charter member of Old Town Baptist Church in Winston-Salem and served faithfully for 60 years. People have told her that she made a difference in their lives as their pre-school Sunday School teacher. She was loved by everyone who knew her and was known for her kindness, her generosity, and her willingness to serve her family and friends. Tommye loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart and lived to know Him and make Him known. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Barbara Young, her brother Dallas Blakley, Jr (Carolyn), and two sons, Keith and Eric. She is survived by her son Mark (wife, Cindy), daughters-in-law Tricia Fox and Kandis Fox, eight grandchildren: Adam Fox (Kris), Micah Fox (Kari), Caleb Fox (Celia), Hannah Maher (Isaiah), Luke Fox, Jesse Fox, Judah Fox, Susanna Fox, and ten great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 30 from 10:00-11:00 am at Old Town Baptist Church, 4386 Shattalon Dr. in Winston-Salem, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am, with Pastors Rick Speas and Burke Holland officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Forsyth Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Feed the Hunger, 323 West Harden St., Graham, NC 27253, or to Old Town Baptist Church. Online Condolences may be made through www.salemfh.com.
