Rose Elizabeth Champagne Obituary

Rose Elizabeth Champagne (Caminiti), 101, of Weston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Woburn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Rose was born to the late Rosario and Giuseppina Caminiti (Barbera) in Waltham on May 7, 1920.

Extremely talented, Rose discovered her love of music, dance, and her gift of song at an early age. After graduating from Waltham High Class of 1939, she met the love of her life, Clifford Rudolph Champagne, and they were married for 53 years. In her early years her creativity flourished, making elaborate dresses for her daughter, Janice. Sunday dinners at the Champagnes was not fully complete until you had Mom’s spaghetti and meatballs with her legendary apple pie for dessert. These dinners were topped off with a few after dinner melodies courtesy of Mom with Dad on the piano—the perfect way to end the evening. She and her husband loved to travel to remote places where Cliff loved to fish. She was the inspiration behind the family printing business and always supported her husband’s efforts to succeed. As time passed, some of her favorite pastimes were playing card games, Bingo, and Uno with her grandchildren. Taking care of family was truly a part of who she was, and making sure her family was happy was her greatest joy. We will all miss her beautiful smile, the way she made you feel whenever she was in your presence, no matter who you were. We can’t forget her flawless, sophisticated, fashion sense complete with very high heels and above all, the way she loved us so.

Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband Clifford Champagne by 25 years, as well as her only sibling, Carmelo Caminiti.

Survived by her loving and devoted children, Janice White and her husband Bruce of Saugus, MA, Wayne Champagne and his wife Susan of Ashland, MA. Three grandchildren, Michelle Giusti and her husband Tom of Hudson, MA, Rebecca Castellano and her husband Michael of Burlington, MA, Nicole Potter and her husband Tom of Marlborough, MA. Four great-grandchildren, Ella Giusti, Audrey Giusti, Luca Castellano and Valentina Castellano, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
