Virginia M. (Burke) Browning, 84, of Gilbert went home to be with her Lord and Savior, and loved ones in Heaven, on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from her residence, surrounded by her family.

Born December 18, 1936 at Logan, she was the daughter of the late Evert and Velvie (Evans) Burke.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton “Tater” Browning and brother, Cebert Burke.

Virginia was a wonderful and loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister and friend.  She enjoyed church and attended the Justice Tabernacle Church.  She was a very kind and humble person who would help anyone. She loved gardening and cooking, especially for her family, whom she devoted her life to.  She leaves them with so many beautiful memories.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her two daughters, Connie (Clinton) Lester of Gilbert, WV and Drema (Dewayne) Walls of North Spring, WV. Her very special granddaughter, Candice (Derek) Settle; her brother, Evert (Yolanda) Burke, Jr.; grandchildren: Angel Lester, Joshua Walls, Jonathan Walls, and Heath Lester; her sister-in-law, Wanda Shepard; her three fur babies Tishie, Aiden and Baby; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Justice Tabernacle Church on Monday, November 29th from 6-9 PM.  Funeral services will be held at the church Tuesday, November 30th at 1 PM with Minister Ravin Kenneda and Pastor Arville Cline officiating.  Burial will follow at the Hatfield Cemetery at Hampden, WV.  Virginia will be carried to her resting place by family and friends.

She may be gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
