Charlie Morton

Charlie Morton, age 83, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Altercare Summit Acres. He was born May 1, 1938, in Stanton, Kentucky, son of the late John T. and Ella Morton. Charlie retired as a journeyman line from IBEW Local #71, Columbus following 35 years of service and he attended the Caldwell Church of the Nazarene. Charlie loved bluegrass music and made two banjos by hand. He was a talented musician who played banjo, bass fiddle, and the guitar. He also enjoyed fishing. Charlie loved his family and was very devoted to them. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Braylee Rossiter; four sisters; and one brother. Surviving are his wife, Diane Perkins Morton, whom he married April 27, 1968; two children, Charlie Daniel “Danny” (Pamela) Morton of Senecaville and Kimberly Dawn (Shane) Jones of Green Bank, West Virginia; four grandchildren, Brianne (Dalton) Rossiter, Brittnee Morton (fiancé, Brandon Robertson), Brady Jones, and Jacob Jones; three great-grandchildren, Weston Rossiter, Paislee Rossiter, and Brynleigh Robertson; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 6-8PM at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, 416 East Street, Caldwell. The funeral service will be observed Wednesday at 11AM at the Caldwell Church of the Nazarene with Pastor John Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Halley’s Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Caldwell Church of the Nazarene, 6 Cumberland Street, Caldwell, Ohio, 43724.
