At the Belmont Long Term Care Home in Belleville, on Thursday, November 25th, 2021. George Jerome Kopulos age 94 years. Beloved husband of Wendy Mae Kopulos (nee Long) (predeceased June 19th, 2016). Loving father of Lisa, Mary Hanley (Mark), and Jill Kopulos. Proud Grampa George to Ashley (Craig) Waites, Trevor Niblett (Katie), Griffin Hanley (Nicole), Madison Hanley (Oisin). Great-grampa to Audrey Mae Waites. George was born in Hamilton, on November 1st, 1927. He resided with his parents, Gus and Madeline Kopulos, and sister, Gloria in Winona. He grew up in The Innsville Hotel that was run by his parents and later managed by himself. His passion was football. He played halfback for the McMaster Marauders, which led to playing with the Hamilton Wildcats in 1948. His career was cut short due to a knee injury, but long enough to catch the interest of Wendy. For many years he enjoyed golf with his buddies, flipping pies, and waterskiing at the cottage on Lake Rosseau, where he spent many Summers. He enjoyed boating but his 3 daughters nicknamed his boat “never out”, for obvious reasons. From a young age, he was a car enthusiast, and even as his dementia took over he still questioned where his car was and how much he missed driving. A fitness enthusiast, as children we remember him doing his push-ups and sit-ups. He then made a career out of walking and really never stopped. Unlike Wendy, George preferred to skip the party. With this in mind, he asked his daughters to host a private family celebration, his treat!
