Ronnie Lee Schaugaard, 71, of Pleasant Grove passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in Provo, Utah.  He was born April 20, 1950 the youngest and only son of Joseph Lee and Verona Thacker Schaugaard. 

He grew up in Orem and attend schools there and graduated from Orem High School in 1968.  While in High School he met his sweetheart Kim Whitaker. They dated for two years before getting married on March 17, 1970.  Together they had three children.

Ronnie loved the deer hunt, camping and especially fishing with his family. He also loved old Chevy cars specifically his 58 Impala. He enjoyed going to the local car shows. 

He was employed at Geneva Steel from 1970 to 1990.  After leaving Geneva Steel, he began working at the Utah State Prison from 1987 until he retired in 2015.  Ronnie enjoyed the many friendships that he made at both companies.

He is survived by his wife Kim, his children: LeAnn (Jeremy) Woodbury, Jeff (Melissa) Schaugaard, ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and son Ronnie Shane Schaugaard. 

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, 600 North 100 West, Pleasant Grove.  Family and friends may attend viewings Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and on Wednesday morning from 9:30 -10:30 am prior to the graveside services.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
