Elsie Daniel Vanetta

In the early morning hours of Friday, November 26th, 2021, Elsie Daniel Vanetta passed peacefully in her 90th year.

The ninth of ten children, Elsie was born on June 20th, 1931, at Posey-Saxon, she was the daughter of Thurman and Liza Pettrey Daniel.  In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by seven brothers, Carl, Clyde, Raymond, Kyle, Quinford, Winford, and Arthur Daniel and one sister, Marie Henry.  She is the dear sister of Georgia Daniel of Beckley who survives.  Elsie and Georgia have made their home together for many years.   A large extended family of nieces and nephews and their families survive as well.

Elsie studied to be a licensed practical nurse in Virginia. She was a long –time resident of Greensberg, Pennsylvania where she was a member of the Presbyterian church.   She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hall W. Vanetta and Robert J. Vanetta Sr.  In addition to her family , she is survived by her step son,  Robert J. Vanetta Jr. and  his family, and good friend, Jean Frelin all of Pennsylvania.

When Elsie’s family think of her, they recall her love of flowers and beautiful things.   She always loved to look nice.

On Wednesday, December 1st there will be a “Service of Remembrance” at 12 noon in the Melton Mortuary  Chapel.   Family and friends may visit at 11:00 am.   Elsie will be laid to rest in the Thurman and Liza Daniel family Cemetery at Cove Creek.   May she rest in peace with all those she loved who went before her.
