Sigrid Ellen Leghorn, a lifelong resident of Newburgh and Wallkill, NY, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at her residence in Wallkill, NY. Sigrid, who was affectionately called, Siggie, was employed by Adams Fairacre Farms in Poughkeepsie NY, where she happily greeted everyone, every day with a smile. The daughter of the late Olav and Jenny (Olsen) Knutsen, Sigrid was born in Cornwall, NY on August 31, 1958, and was a 1976 Graduate of Newburgh Free Academy. Sigrid is survived by her two sons, Brian Leghorn and his wife Krystin of Egg Harbor Township, NJ and Steven Leghorn and his wife Karah of Philadelphia, PA; her siblings, Steven Knutsen and George Knutsen; her two granddaughters who “Oma” loved and adored, Aylin and Aubree Leghorn; and the father of her children Michael Leghorn, along with numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Sigrid’s life will take place on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 3 to 5 pm with a chapel service at 5 pm at White, Venuto & Morrill, FCS 188 North Plank Road, Newburgh, NY 12550. In lieu of flowers donations in Sigrid's memory have been asked to Toys For Tots at toysfortots.org.
