VILLE PLATTE – Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte, on Monday, November 29, 2021, for Bessie Louise Chapman, 93, who passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

Father Andrew Killeen will be celebrant of the mass and conduct funeral services.

Burial will take place in M.B. Fontenot Cemetery.

She is survived by son, Crestin “Chris” Fuselier and wife, Linda of Ville Platte; eight grandchildren, Kim Ardoin, Blaine Lafleur, Wendy Hargroder, Duane Pitre, Susan Pitre, Robin Lafleur, Robbie, and Monica; great-grandchildren, Brittney and Nicholas Ardoin, Tabby Hargroder, Kristen Caesar, Kierra and Nickolas Pitre, Emily and Alex Pitre, and  Carly Lafleur; and six great-great grandchildren, Kelsie, Lincoln, and Ganon Ardoin, Karson Reed, and Nyla and Cassidy Caesar.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ales and Mellie Fontenot Fuselier; first husband, Osman Fuselier; second husband, Leroy Chapman; daughter-in-law, Ginger Fuselier; grandson, Scott Fuselier; granddaughter, Laurie Pitre; great-great granddaughter, Gracie Reed; and daughter-in-law, Brenda Pitre. 

At the request of the family, visitation will take place at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte on Monday, November 29, 2021, from 10:00 AM until time of service.  A rosary will be recited by Deacon Gary Gaudin at 11:30 AM on Monday.
