<p>Leonard Baird, 98, of Boonville, New York and formerly of Hopedale died on November 25 in Boonville. He was the husband of the late Helen M. (Gaskill) Baird who died in 2010.</p> <p>He was born in Long Pond, Newfoundland; son of the late Henry and Elsie (Dawe) Baird. He was raised and educated there and attended Memorial University in ST.John&#39;s&nbsp; Newfoundland.</p> <p>Leonard was first employed as a teacher in three towns in Newfoundland. After moving to Hopedale in 1948, he was employed by the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale as a payroll clerk. After Draper&#39;s was taken over by Rockwell Corporation, Leonard and Helen moved to Greensboro, North Carolina and worked for Rockwell until he retired in 1982. They returned to Hopedale in 1988.</p> <p>Leonard was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Milford, Montgomery Lodge of Masons, Mt.Lebanon Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and Milford Council, R&amp;SM.</p> <p>He is survived by a daughter, Marie Henry of Boonville, NY, two sons, Warren Baird of Uxbridge, MA and Roy Baird of Whitsett, NC, a sister, Myrtle Dunham, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.</p> <p>His funeral will be held on Thursday, December 2nd at 11:am in Trinity Episcopal Church, 17 Congress St. Milford. Burial will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 1rst from 3 to 6:pm in the Watson Colonial Funeral Home, 24 Congress St. Milford.</p> <p>Donations in Leonard&#39;s memory may be made to the Alzheimer&#39;s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd.
