<p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>Kay Frances Peabody age 72 passed away in Columbia, MD on Thursday November 25, 2021</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>Born August 20,1949 in Westerly, Rhode Island, daughter of Richard and Ruth (Ivester) James.&nbsp; She was a resident of Laurel for over 40 years. She worked at the VITRO corporation (with Duane), ITSI and Dr. Lesser Optometry in Laurel, but her most loved career was helping raise 4 amazing grandchildren. Kay was a member of Savage United Methodist Church where she participated as an actor in several church plays and a member of the Bell Choir.&nbsp; She was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New England Patriots. She has influenced many young lives as a Girl Scout Leader and Church Youth Group leader. Kay made sure to be at her grandchildren&rsquo;s athletic games and school concerts.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>Kay is survived by daughters Karen (Tim) Smallwood and Tina (Dareyl) Plue, grandchildren Devin, David, Madison, Georgia, Sara, and Amy, and sisters Ruth (Paul) Grant, Linda Armstrong and Patricia (David) Ring. Kay was preceded in death by her husband Duane Peabody, parents Richard and Ruth (Ivester) James.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>Visitation will be 2-4 pm &amp; 6-8 pm December 2 at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. Funeral Services 11:00 am December 3, at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:16px;"><strong>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Kay Peabody to Savage UMC, 9050 Baltimore Street Savage MD 20763.&nbsp; Make check payable to &ldquo;Savage UMC&rdquo; and write a note: Memorial Fund of Kay Peabody.</strong></span></p>
