Mary-Ann (Setterstrom) Rust, 89, of Evansville, IN, was called home to be with our Lord on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Solarbron. She was a proud 11 year breast cancer survivor. Mary-Ann was born November 23, 1932, in Chicago, IL, to the late Eric and Frieda (Nyberg) Setterstrom. She attended Amundsen High School in Chicago, IL, where she played basketball. She loved to roller skate and met her husband at the roller rink. Mary-Ann and John, her late husband, owned the Red Garter in Evansville from 1974 until early 1977. She was a bookkeeper and secretary at Assembly of God Church in Evansville from 1978-1980. Mary-Ann loved her family, especially being a Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For years she loved to bowl, knit, crochet, cross-stitch and play video games. She also enjoyed reading books and playing online bowling. She made afghans for every child, grandchild, and great-grandchild. She was an avid Icemen and Evansville Otters fan and enjoyed attending their games with her sister-in-law, Barbara Rust, and with her nephew, Kenny Rust. She was a faithful member of Vertical Church in Ft. Branch, IN. Mary-Ann was a strong woman and will be terribly missed by many. Mary-Ann is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Debbie Scott (John); daughters, Linda Taylor (Mike), Sandy Chamberlain (Skip); son, Michael Rust (Cheryl); grandchildren, Justin Scott (Amanda), Kristopher Scott (Alicia), Ryan Rust (Hannah), Erik Rust (Sarah), Shelley Stokes, Johnathan Heil, Michael Taylor (Erica), Joshua Taylor (Genella), Jason Chamberlain, Shawn Chamberlain (Leslie), Krystal Chamberlain, Kyle Chamberlain; many great-grandchildren: sisters-in-law, Barbara Rust and Marilyn Setterstrom; a special nephew, Kenny Rust; a special lifelong friend, Tina Dillman (Danny); and by many nieces and nephews. Mary-Ann is preceded in death by her husband, John Rust; by her parents; and by her brother, Kenneth Setterstrom. She could not wait to be reunited with her husband, parents, and brother. A celebration of Mary-Ann's life will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Rich Clark officiating.
