Jeanne Weizoerick Calfas

Opelousas - Funeral services for Jeanne Calfas will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at the Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA.  Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the service. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeanne Weizoerick Calfas, age 86, who was a resident of Opelousas, LA.  She passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Opelousas General Health System.  She worked many years as a nurse in the healthcare field.  After her nursing career, she still had so much to give to others, so she volunteered her time at the hospital.  She enjoyed shopping, traveling, being with people, and entertaining family and friends in her home.  She loved her family above anything else and will be missed by all.

She is survived by sons, Walter Chuck (Jeanne) McBride and Tom (Janet) Weizoerick; former husband and friend, Robert McBride of Opelousas; brother, Allen James "Jimmie" Guillet; grandchildren: Scotty McBride and Madison Weizoerick; and Robert's children, Mike Falcon (Dana), Elizabeth Walter (Jason), April Ellis (Will), and Walter Duncan McBride (Angie); and Robert's grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Guillet and Hazel D'Avy Guillet.

Pallbearers will be Duncan McBride and William Ellis. 

Visitiation will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas.
